Alex's Lemonade Stand
I just found this story via Twitter. Alexandra "Alex" Scott was diagnosed with cancer before her first birthday. At age four, after receiving a stem cell transplant, Alex announced to her mom that after getting out of the hospital, she wanted to have a lemonade stand to help raise money for doctors to "find a cure". She raised $2,000 with her first stand.
Alex continued to raise money through her lemonade stand every year. Sadly, the dear child passed away at the tender age of eight.
